omegafinal's News

It's been a while, so might as well.

Ever since my new job a couple of months ago, it totally destroyed the flow of flash comic progress, turning it from an average of a month to god knows how long, which is showing in Project TRITEN, which I'm going to release in its possibly unfinished form. If I do, at least I'll get comments on how to improve on it.

After that, I'll be working steadfast on Mirangel 10/31, a Halloween quickie and an introduction to a group of characters in a project I've been developing for about two years now.

That's all.

YukiDaKitty: CC Totally BS! 3
The next installment slated for a Valentine's Week release. The story here is based on the fact that people can actually die from broken hearts and turning it into a murder trial. Somewhat of a retread on the very first Totally BS! installment, but it's the execution of the subject that matters, even though the story's ending is quite obvious.

Digital Executor Cyberangel TRITEN
Slated to be released on October 10, 2010, I think I'm the only one that has made videos using these kinds of dates as a basis for the videos. I'll admit the one for 6/6/06 sucked, 7/7/07 was serviceable, 8/8/08 was left unfinished, 9/9/09 was amusing, 10/10/10...a failure? Reminds me of the Star Trek movie syndrome where the evens are good and the odds are bad (looks like it's broken with JJ Abrams's installment).

Unlike Cyberangel 888, I'm keeping this to one single episode, try not to make it too big. Just because the sequel is slated for a Valentine's Week 2011 release.

Grimmtale MS Mirangel
I honestly don't know when this is going to released, the script is mostly done, but the comic part is not. I'm going to work on this after CC: Totally BS! 3 is complete.

FWD: Totally BS!: The Girl Gamers 5
Due to the lack of personal interest, it's been canned. It's a shame, since about 65% of the animation is complete. But this is based on a single joke about Mountain Dew being changed to "MTN Dew" and how it can confuse someone who is stupid or not familiar with the changes.

One of the things I might do with this is putting it in compilation flash, all five episodes in one flash video, retouch on the graphics, etc, when I feel like it.

The Legacy of Zelda: DestiRi Link Casters
I personally would like to continue this, since I already got the entire story mapped out and there's even an projected episode count. But I consider Mirangel as my more important series, maybe I could alternate between them, but that's it.

Until then!

CC: Totally BS! 2
Some snags during progress. VAs are either busy or sick. The original Halloween release may be delayed.

FWD: Totally BS!: The Girl Gamers 5
Planned for a November release. So far, most of the animation is done, just need the voices.

Haruhi Suzumiya: Aliens and Fanservice: Now and Then Edition
I'll admit that the last I've talked with her was in September when I told her my reasons why I want to remake the visuals. If everything goes well, I'll be concentrating on this for December.

Mirangel
Oh how I've delayed its production for over a year now, with three rewrites. Depending on how the Haruhi project goes, this is my January project.

Well it's been a long while since I've updated this.

Right now, I'm working on the second episode of CC: Totally BS!, which is also going to the first that'll have SynSav roles, which are reserved for novice AVAs. The expected release date for this is by the end of the month.

Absolute BS! is officially cancelled, because my interest in it has diminished.

That's Totally BS, Haruhi Suzumiya is planned to be remade as Haruhi Suzumiya: Aliens and Fanservice: Original Mix. All references to the Totally BS! series is removed, and the srt execution is going to be similar to what's shown in CC: Totally BS!. The audio will be the same, but outputted to a highly quality. As an extra inspired by Monkey Island: Special Edition, I'll include the the That's Totally BS! version as well, and you can switch between the two version seamlessly. Like I said, this is just only in the planning stages, so things will change.

I originally meant for my next post to deal with Mirangel, but under the circumstances, I'll bring this bit of production news out instead.

Absolute BS!: Episode Three: Left 4 Dead feat. To LOVE-Ru originally was planned to have a Thriller montage as the ending sequence. But it was ultimately cut out after the ABS! series after the change in direction from a series of stand-alone episodes to a continuous narrative.Ever since the death of Michael Jackson, I going to reinstate the sequence as way of paying tribute to him.

I know it's early, and Absolute BS!: Episode Two: Rosario + Vampire feat. Mirror's Edge is not even released yet; who would like to design a zombie to be used in the video? Both to be killed by the heroes or be used in the Thriller sequence. The expected release date for ABS! 3 is October 31.

I will provide the base sprite for everyone to use, and you must use the base, because they will all use the same animation "skeleton" more or less, and this is more important for the Thriller sequence. I cannot guarantee that I'll animate the entire sequence, so time will be a factor (I got two projects before it). Production hasn't started yet, so it'll be a while before I'll release the base sprite. (I call them sprites, because they behave like the sprites of a video game to a degree.)

=======================

Episode Three synopsis:

The Minami Sisters and Yuki (and the Skunk) has arrived to the Valve Universe. In this universe, the Valve Entertainment Corporation is best known for their holographic games. One such game is Left 4 Dead, where teams of four can go live out the zombie apocalypse. But today, it seems like the Director has been screwing around with the simulation. Mix in "Golden Assassin" Yami-chan from the To LOVE-Ru Universe, what else will go wrong?

(Techncially, this universe has been visited before in the That's Totally BS, Team Fortress! video, where TF2 is reimagined as a reality show.)

So within a week or two, Absolute BS!, a sequel series to That's Totally BS!, is coming out. It still stars The Melencholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Yuki Nagato, going from background character to series lead, along with the skunk and the Minami Sisters of Minami-ke. So I've pretty much turned this into a combination of Doctor Who and Sliders in its premise. Future episodes involves them interacting with characters from Rosario + Vampire, Mirror's Edge, and Left 4 Dead. I'll also be taking suggestions on what "world" they can visit next. But the characters they'll meet will be different than the ones that you'll know. For example, Faith from Mirror's Edge will be portrayed more a thrill seeking troublemaker than a Runner. This is taking a page from the series Kamen Rider Decade, where they did the same thing.

Next up is the flash comic, The Legend of Zelda DLC ~DestiRi Link Casters~. A couple years ago, I've released a short pilot episode of a sci-fi Zelda series, then it just dropped off the face of the world. For the few people who were interested in it becoming a series, I've already plotted out the entire five-episode season. It has a very heavy Kamen Rider basis, so the series gimmick is the fact that Rinku Nexus gains the abilities of past Links from cards, and the fact it's set in the future and that Rinku is a girl. Funny thing, I was laughing to myself when the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is coming out, because one of the Kamen Rider references to be used in this series comes from the Den-O installment, where a flying train (when it's not traveling through time) is used. Double the reference!...Double the Fun, Doublemint Gum?

There's also a third series, Mirangel, is an original drama I've been working on, but I won't bore you all with the details. So Absolute BS! is slated to be released very soon, Zelda DLC is slated for April/May, Mirangel in May/June, Abolute BS! 2 in July...as you can see it's a rotating...monthly release schedule. Let's hope I keep it that way!

I also got FWD: Totally BS! The Girl Gamers 3 coming soon too. Everything's done except for the voice acting. Originally slated to be release at the beginning of March, it makes fun of the Christian Bale rant a couple months ago, who cares if it's late. Just laugh at it (when it comes out). Maybe I'll release it the same day Terminator Salvation comes out, just because.

Well this is going to be the last That's Totally BS! installment for a while, with the release date set sometime in December. The animations pretty much complete, and I'm currently holding auditions at the VAC and VAA. I had fun making these "fan work" installments of the Totally BS! series, but I should get back to making more original works.

I'm pretty glad that FWD: Totally BS!: The Girl Gamers, Issue 2 (3.71 is the current score as of this writing) got a higher score than That's Totally BS, You Lucky Stars! (3.48), and see it surpass my highest rated original work. It is because I actually spent some time on the story and trying to combine two totally unlikely things together, and in my mind, it actually worked.

For a while, I planned on a collaborative That's Totally BS!, either one based on an idea I had back when the Metal Gear collab was still accepting submissions, where an artist would write and animate a "stage" in an overarching storyline. Or one based on Team Fortress, where it's a general collective collab (like the MGS Collab). One or the other, not both.

I might work more on it, but like I said before, I want to focus more on my original works, such as constantly rewritten Project SWANSONG, and FWD: Totally BS!: The Girl Gamers. Heh, I just remember my other fanwork, a scifi Zelda series. I've developed the universe and the characters so far, it's a shame that I might not get to it in a long while.

Oh well, since Project SWANSONG does not have a set date, because I want to be as awesome as possible (look at Cyberangel 888: Act 1/3 as the perfect example of what a time limit can do to you), I might work a bit on Zelda. Who knows. Working on one project constantly will burn you out, so always have a couple lesser ones to work on if you're tired of it and need a break. Until then.

Again, I'm not permanently ending the That's Totally BS! series. I might be looking for some ideas of what series I should "BS". Also I won't guarantee another installment to be made soon.

And damn it PETA, for butchering Cooking Mama!

Looks like That's Totally BS, You Lucky Star! has been great, but it's disappointing to see that the Newgrounds version fare the worst. It seems like the loudest of reviewers tend to be those who think they are "smart" or "high class" and do not enjoy the most simple of things. The author's comments are meant to explain some of the things, and it would be nice if most would take the time to read it.

The next That's Totally BS! will focus on Team Fortress 2. There will be two installment, with one of them being a collab. That's all the information I'm giving out right now.

I am currently working on a drama, while trying to finish up Cyberangel 888.

Until then.

Well well, looks like I'm back to making flash comics. I actually do enjoy them, it's different from your ordinary flash movies. It's animated and not animated at the same time. I was first exposed to it from the series Broken Saints, then I thought to myself, that is what I want to try and pull off.

But enough about that, I'm here to talk about Cyberangel 888, the emotastic Power Ranger-esque series. Originally created as a 12-15 minute one shot. I was forced to break it down into three parts due to time constraints. I'm not going to change anything in the scripts, since a good amount was dubbed and drawn out in advance (as in past Act One). Right now, I'm aiming to have Act Two and Act Three to be released by the end of the month.

As for the incompleteness of Act One. I think that I will re-release it as a "Second Printing" with the Director's Notes missing from the "First Printing", the missing voice clips for Sara Sandbreak and Trance Fairwater, and some audio balancing as well. Why am I not replacing the one I did for 8/8/08? Look at the date, it's special, I don't want to tinker with it. Although if Tom Fulp can advance the submission time for it ahead by one minute, then it'll be perfect (lol). Not to mention that some people would like to see the differences between the two.

For those confused about the story, I will have a recap of the events at the beginning of Act Two and Three, and tie up some loose ends at the Act Three epilogue.

To those who enjoyed it, thank you and look forward to Act Two. To those who didn't enjoy it BUT offered me advice; thank you to you all too, and I'll be taking your suggestions into consideration. For those who absolutely abhor it...well...bugger off.

Before I leave, here is a preview shot for Act Two. Until then!

(Oh yeah, who guess who I model that guy on the right after?)

Cyberangel 888 Future Releases

Might as well update on the news of one of my projects.

Some of you already know of the sci-fi series The Legend of Zelda: Destiny Rival, but for those who don't know, I'll tell you.

This fan-flash was originally created as a Twilight Princess Commemoration vid, but seeing how I got something that is relatively unique, I decided to turn this into a series. This is a science fiction mixed with magical elements. But don't expect something like Star Wars with extremely high skyscrapers, that's for sure.

One theme I want to touch on in this series is "Identity", what makes the characters them. For example, just because Rinku Nexus is the chosen Heroine, she has her own life and the right to question it. "Just because it's Destiny" won't cut it, there has to be something else to why Rinku decided to go along for the ride.

Another theme is contradictions. Here are some of them, Rinku is a girl, Saria is a grown woman with the mentality of the Tenth Doctor, Zelda's quite violent, the setting is a modern sci-fi, etc.

So far I've just picked the project up again along with a couple others, and drew out a few cels for each. I may throw out a special preview pack for the two in the future. I don't have a solid date for any of them so don't get your hopes up.
