"Very nice emulation, but with flaws"
I liked it, but do you remember that the original is done by mashing two buttons in rapid succession? It was too damn easy. Plus, when the timer runs out, they automatically punch through it (depending on your energy), but here, it freezes.

I tried adding both those features but the game would fuck up... Thought it might be easier this way too. Thanks for the suggestion!

Didn't look like it, man. If you did, then you're a better flash animator for spending more time fine tuning the graphics. It's pretty good, nothing more nothing less.
Plus, this is just the first episode, right?

A different tutorial on Newgrounds, excellent. Let's hope sprite-haters don't BLAM this.

Cool thought-provoking movie I have to say. The poetry made sense with the background.
But there is some complains I might say:
The segments of the poem are somewhat spaced out too long, and there is a slight graphical gitch on the right side if you noticed.
Overall, nice job. You didn't try to make it to be exciting and cool, it is to be calm and mellow. An easy viewing.

Seems more like a rip of the Japanese opening. But that's just me, since I've NEVER seen the Japanese opening of it.
The graphics definitely needs touching up since some are inconsistent due to some looking thick like a shitty VHS video and some as sharp as a high quality DVD.
And design your own title art, it looks stupid in my opinion. Have you seen the Dragon Ball GT title? Use that. Personally, use the title art as shown on "Blood Roar 3", it has a nice look to it.
The characters look rehashed since some characters obviously look like familiar faces (Gundam SEED Destiny suffers from this). Design some of your own.
The title SJ seems to have no meaning whatsoever. "GT" stands for "Grand Tour", so choose a more meaningful title, unless you have.
And get a tablet, for this kind of frame-by-frame video, you definitely need one to get things done quicker.
Pretty nice job I should say......
......and this is coming from an (not-really) anti-DragonBall Z fan.

Captain Lo-Rez, Final Fantasy, etc...
It feels like each scene is a seperate movie, because you've placed an authentic feel on each of them by transforming Mario to fit each of them.
This does not feel like a cheap sprite movie at all, but one of the most imaginitive.
And did you get permission from the original author of Captain Lo-Rez for the cameo?...unless you are the original author, then glad to see one of my favorite newgrounds character is alive in some way and form.
now bring out part 5.

I've seen something like this before ON THIS SITE with the same title (i think). Was it you who did it?
Now on the movie, comparing it to Genryu's Blade would be too close of a call. Like Genryu's, this packs tons of style, but you've amped it with more fluid animation and a more simplistic yet more effective camera work. This is added into my favorites and your name too.
And just for the genre's sake, add in an additional and selectable Japanese audio track with english subtitles...if possible...if not, there's always the special FlashDVD edition.

Actually, this wasn't really intended to be an "anime" per se... that's just the way I draw my characters. I'm starting to move away from that style and into something a little more realistic, but there's still quite a bit of anime influence.
In any case, my goal is to eventually move this series into 3D animation, at which point the characters will cease to look like cartoon characters and will hopefully look more like real people.
