...since the last episode. The graphical quality is still there, but I got lost in the story halfway through the episode since the dialogue isn't in English.
Seeing how it has been since 2005 you've last released an Angel B. Dean episode, maybe you should do a recap episode if you got the time. (And you know how some people are.)
I'll be looking forward to the final product.

It's interesting to see another "dodging the falling tetrominoes" Tetris movie, and I like how the blocks would fall with the music at times. Overall, it's an entertaining video commemorating the game's 25th anniversary.
Author's Response:
Thanks! The date of release was actually just a coincidence.

I am amazed by this feat that you've pulled off, because it plays just like how I remembered it. Some minor issues I encountered are that the aiming window is a tad too tight for my liking, and the lack of music (but you've mentioned it, so no worries there). Also playing it just on the keyboard shows most of us how spoiled we are with the modern keyboard+mouse controls. That's pretty much all I have to say in the crit.
Since now we know that Flash can have an accurate port of Doom thanks to Alchemy, what's next? Duke Nukem 3D perhaps?

"I'll rate this as objective as possible."
Okay, I'll admit that I do not condone what PETA's doing by having these parody games made, and Cooking Mama is really pushing it. Now onto the actual review.
The graphics are nice, and the morbidness of it as well. You've duplicated the style of Cooking Mama pretty well. Unfortunately that's the only upside of it.
Control wise, there were terrible registration issues. The neck cutting and the egg cracking has the poorest registration, making me having to "hit the egg" many times just to make it crack, and neck cutting too. The feather plucking, mixing, gutting, stuffing, oven, and tofu minigames are all fine.
Sound is alright, nothing special.
I've rated this just on the gameplay mechanics alone, not on the fact that this is another terrible PETA game (would I rate it this high if I did?). I'll admit, the Super Chick Sisters was nicely done, and it was a shame to see this to be not as good (gameplay-wise).
You show a lot of promise, the art is great, the gameplay is decent (aside from the registration problems); but it's just the fact that this is a PETA game, and gamers are not a big fan of it. Hopefully in the future you'll have something more original (and hopefully not connected to PETA). If you're going to continue making games for them, fine, it's you're choice. But again, you show promise, and I would like to see some great original work.
Final note, one reviewer (on Youtube) bought this up, you're essentially giving us the basic instructions of making a turkey dinner. I find it quite odd. Granted, you're trying to show us that it's "horrible", but still.
Author's Response:
Thanks for your thoughtful review. I appreciate it. Admittedly this was my first point+click game, so the game engine was a bit of a challenge, and it's possible there were better ways to build it than I did. I'll keep this in mind for next time. Thanks!

All it is is a slideshow, that's it. You could've done a lot more with it, such as animating it with a classroom setting with a professor lecturing it or something.
Author's Response:
lol, those are good ideas, maby ill do something eles like that!

"Decent, but can be hard to get through"
I like it. It has been a long time since I've actually made a flash game, so this is almost like a refresher.
I would say that it's easy to follow, but you are some questionable font choices that almost made my eyes bleed. That is the use of "outline" fonts is horrible, and getting through those is hard (but hey, I made it...somewhat). It would've also been better for you to add in a menu system (to the tutorial), because I personally hate linear tutorial slideshows, and it's just easier to navigate.
Don't feel bad about the enemy AI, it's a tough part. The best I've done is just animating the entire boss battle (which kinda made it feel like an early Megaman or Kid Icarus game).
If you are working on a version 2.0 of this with more advance elements you think people should know, I hope I've gave you some ideas on how it should navigate. This is a self tutorial piece, not a class lecture.
Overall, it's functional, and it serves its propose. Good job and faving it.
Author's Response:
Version 2.0? After all those frame? You must be mad lol. I did worry a bit about navigation system ad the AI. And I put the codes at the end in case it was hard to follw, i'm not amazing at explaining ;D

The controls are what got me, and it was pretty original to have it be held like an actual controller, and it worked. My problem with it is that they are a bit slow and limited. I would've like to throw out some hook shots and uppercuts. But I see that your title is a possible play on the Nintendo game "Punch-Out!!", so I understand if that is where you're going.
It's a pretty good game I thought, and I like how there are some other challenges thrown in, like the Castle Crashers and the set combos, to vary things up a bit.

Effective dark humor there. I was laughing all the way until the end where I felt horrible. Love the art. (I am catgirl fan) Cute Metal Gear cameo references, and was that Lucky Star?
Any negatives? Although the movie is easy to follow thanks to the character actions; but since you've posted this on Newgrounds, an English dominant site, it would be nice if you've included optional English subtitles for us to understand what she said and some of the text that popped up.

Even though it has been 16 months, this episode showed that you've grow in skill since the last one. The increased use of 3D effects showed it.
For the most "I want it ASAP" crowd (Which I am not, but I do know some that are), the length of this well made up for it (which is maybe two or three episodes worth crammed into one?). It was to the point where I though, "Is it going to end? Please don't let it yet." In the end, I'm glad that this "Minus World" story arc is contained into one episode, because helped set up the next one.
For the old school flavor, the switch to 8-bit is great, the redesigned sprites as well...and the sound effects of that world too. I especially like the backstory of the Minus World.
If I have to give out one negative comment, it is that seeing a smooth vectorized arm cannon with Mecha Sonic's pixelated sprite strikes me as very odd, especially since we see it as a pixelated sprite on the side view.
Overall, I like it, and I will be looking forward to the next episode. And release the next one soon (as in not another 16+ months. Wanna know what's evil? Releasing the next one in 15.9 months, because it is technically released in less than 16 months). If not, C'est la vi.

The old lime-green CRT screen effect got me, and I am a sucker for that kind of style (actually, any old-fashion styles). Not to mention it takes a good amount of effort to reproduce it in Flash in a manner that is not generic or cliche.
It is a pretty solid game and it provided a good challenge, and the ending was just great. My only real complaint is how the physics was handled in some of the stages. They seemed to be way too bouncy at times.
